Speaker: The Honorable Theododre R. Essex, Administrative Law judge, United States Internatonal Trade Commission
Judge Essex has been an ALJ at the USITC since 2007. He is also a Professional Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University Law School.
The topics of Judge Essex’ presentation will be what the ITC Judges are really looking for in evaluating the parties’ theories in a 337 case, and current trends in 337 investigations.

Starter (choice of one)

1. Insalata Mista: an organic lettuce medley drizzled with our balsamic vinaigrette

2. Pasta Fagioli: typical Veneto country soup of simmered cannellini beans with garlic, tomato, vegetables, chicken stock and tubetti pasta

Entrée (choice of one)

1. Pollo al Saltimbocca: chicken breast cutlets lightly pounded with prosciutto di Parma and fresh sage, lightly sautéed and topped with a white wine sauce, served with oven-roasted potatoes and vegetables

2. Tortellini a Quattro Formaggio: homemade cheese tortellini tossed in our four cheese sauce

3. Ravioli in Funghi con Burro e Salvia: delicately hand-rolled ravioli stuffed with imported porcini mushrooms, and lightly sautéed with butter and fresh sage, sprinkled with parmegiano reggiano cheese

4. Risotto ai Porcini: imported Arborio rice sauteed and simmered with porcini mushrooms and stock, sprinkled with parmigiano reggiano cheese

5. Gnocchi Malloreddus: saffron-flavored potato dumplings and Italian sausage sautéed with garlic, plum tomatoes, sage and a touch of parmegiano reggiano cheese

In the June 21, 2012 Patently-O blog Jason Rantanen notes Joe Matal recently published a comprehensive guide to the legislative history of the AIA in the Federal Circuit Bar Journal. Part I addresses the portions of the AIA that relate to applications before the patent issues, while part II deals with with the portions that apply after a patent is granted. The blog notes that a copy of Matal's article is available via SSRN:
